Description

Yes, I went there. I regret nothing.

One of my favorite shows ever is King of the Hill. It was hilarious and had a certain amount of realism to it that other adult sitcoms don't have.

But the syndicated reruns on Adult Swim tend to skip Season One in its entirety...

Honestly, I don't know why. Sure, the animation wasn't as polished (it was still in the Beavis and Butthead style) and the characters weren't as refined as they were in later seasons, but the first season had some great episodes.

One episode in particular stood out with me... it was called "Luanne's Saga."

In the episode, Luanne gets dumped by her then boyfriend Buckley. She gets extremely depressed, so her Uncle Hank decides to try and set her up with a football player at a local restaurant. Unfortunately, the football player turns out to be a jerk and he tries to rape Luanne when she goes on a date with him. Thankfully, Hank's old friend from school, Boomhauer, comes to her rescue. Luanne then falls in love with Boomhauer and kisses him. Hank gets very mad at Boomhauer for putting the moves on his niece and calls him a "cradle-robber." He then gets upset at Luanne and tells her that as long as she lives in his house, she can't see Boomhauer anymore. So she decides to move out to live with Boomhauer. But Boomhauer's feeling conflicted over her staying at his bachelor pad. Eventually, Hank and Luanne make up and she comes back to live with him. And she and Buckley make up at a later time and continue their relationship, until Buckley dies at the end of Season Two.

Now, in the show's canon, Luanne eventually ends up with Lucky. vignette4.wikia.nocookie.net/k…

And I certainly don't dislike Lucky as a character, but he's not one of my favorite characters either. (My top four are Dale, Kahn, Luanne, and Boomhauer.)

But I really love the 'what if' aspect of Boomhauer/Luanne (or Booanne, as I've decided to call them.)

Boomhauer is a notorious ladies' man, but in one episode, he actually tries to settle down with a woman he really likes. So he could give up his bachelor ways if he loved a woman enough. Also, he's older than Luanne (and older than Lucky for that matter.) Luanne needs someone who can help take care of her. Boomhauer could definitely provide for her.

So, let's just pretend for the sake of this picture that Lucky somehow died in a tragic accident, and Boomhauer and Luanne rekindle their old flame.

The title is based on Boomhauer's distinct way of speaking. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bIaUfB…

ENJOY!!
