Life in the Fail Lane: Glee/Ryan Murphy

Okay... I'm going to be straight up...

I hate Glee...

I do. I hate the characters, the stories, and I hate their terrible, shitty auto-tuned versions of great music. (They ruined Bohemian Rhapsody... there's no saving them anymore.) The only character I don't hate passionately is Sue and that's because she hates the Glee people too. GO SUE!!

But I hate this show. I've seen clips, but really it's just High School Musical with gay kids and shitty stories... actually no, that's just the story of High School Musical. Oh, I got it... it's High School Musical with sex.

I can't understand why this show's so popular. It's unoriginal. The characters... we've all seen them in some media. They're not exciting to watch. And all the plots involve "who's gonna get laid today?" Or "who's gonna end up together?"

Glee is just a High School Musical fanfiction... that's what it is.

But what pisses me off the most is the recent Kings of Leon vs. Ryan Murphy crap.

I say props to KoL for not giving in to the bullshit that is known as Glee. Stick to your guns!

But oh my gosh! Ryan Murphy is the whiniest douchebag in Hollywood I've seen in a long time. Clearly, he has a big ego pole up his butt...

His comment on KoL was so immature, I don't even know where to begin.

He started off with this...

"F*ck you Kings of Leon! They're self-centered assholes."

No Ryan Murphy... YOU are. You think you're so wonderful and great... but you're not. You're show's superficial garbage and you aren't any better.

Oh, but it gets better... then, he said...

"Hate on arts education."

Glee is NOT arts education. It's a stupid TV show. And even real Glee clubs aren't the whole of arts education. Are you kidding me Ryan Murphy? Do you think your show is really THAT good? Really? I could write a better series... in a drunken stupor.

Then, after some more pissing and moaning, he ended with this...

"You can make fun of Glee all you want... but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music."

So, Ryan Murphy thinks he and the whole cast and crew of Glee are music gods who inspire the masses to want to pursue music?

I don't know anyone who's watched Glee who didn't already have a love for music. And I know a LOT of people who watch Glee.

My inspiration for music came from the classics. The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, Queen... do I even need to go on?

Glee hasn't inspired anyone that I can think of. The radio... music... THAT'S what inspires people. Genes usually play into it too... or, you know... learning a family passed musical instrument. It's not you, Ryan Murphy. Nor is it your horrible auto-tuned bullshit show.

Go listen to REAL music people. Glee's done nothing for the art of music, other than beat it over the head with a sledgehammer and then kick it while it's down.

And I think that what pisses me off most about all of this is that... Japan's had so much crap happen to it... and Ryan Murphy's whining about not getting to use music? My God! Priorities motherf*cker... do you have them?

And to anyone who thinks KoL's comment was homophobic... no, it wasn't. Sure, it could've been worded better. But they were just telling him to stop being a whiny bitch about things and to stop thinking he's entitled to butcher every single song he wants. Sounds like a solid criticism to me in that regard...

And if you like this show, don't even bother trying to convince me it's not so bad... because I know it is. I've seen enough of that crap to know it's nothing but crap. The way this show's going, I won't be surprised if they have Rebecca Black guest star on the show... or if the cast does a cover of "Friday."
