Okay, this is gonna spoil most of the ending for my story, but I don't care.

Okay, so Darryn ends up getting mortally wounded saving Edolie, and Edolie ends up breaking the rod, defeating the huge troll who hurt him. Blagden commits suicide, thinking Darryn's dead, and Broderick and Edolie help everyone escape.

Now, Edolie and Darryn are giving each other their good-byes, and Broderick, seeing Mistress Edolie in such sorrow, uses all the rod's magic to help his master, so Edolie can be happy. The rod glows and all the last of its magic helps heal Darryn's wound and sight. The two kiss and hug, rejoicing in their love, and Broderick looks on with a smile...

Then, suddenly, Wilona appears (a.k.a. Lady Desire) [link] and is pleased at Broderick's sincere act of unselfishness... and decides that his good will should be rewarded. She changes into a She-Doolie, and Broderick stares in awe at her beauty (because he hadn't seen a She-Doolie in a LONG time.)
