'Let's open a restaurant together...'

Now, I know what some of you are probably thinking...

"Is that Jughead with a gender bent Archie? "

The answer is, "No. No, it is not."

This little ginger is Cricket O'Dell, one of the most obscure Archie comics characters ever.

She had a unique gift at being able to smell money. (Get it? Her initials are C.O.D.)

So, why is she with Jughead?

Well, that was based on a very fun little comic (from the 50s comics where he was always shown as having no interest in girls) in which he and she teamed up to win a scavenger hunt in which they had to find a treasure chest full of silver dollars. The two were so cute and silly together, I couldn't resist the idea of pairing them off.

As for the title, it's a play on their two obsessions... Jughead's is food - which restaurants have plenty of - and Cricket's is money - which restaurants make through business.

I seriously wish Cricket would get a comeback. She was by far one of the most original characters in the comics and she had a lot of personality. She certainly had plenty more than Archie's most recent character, Kevin, who has the personality of toilet paper.
